FHEDA Associated with UN-DPI

The Foundation for Health Education and Drug Awareness, Inc. has been associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information NGO Resource Center  (UN-DPI/NGO) in good standing from 1999 to 2018.

UN-related projects and activities:
  • FHEDA has been represented in  the Annual United Nations-DPI/NGO Conferences held in New York City…attended by NGO delegates from many countries worldwide.
  • COMBAT AIDS.  HIV/AIDS  is 100% fatal, but 100% preventable. Prevention is our  top priority, for it is easier and more effective to thwart the problem before it begins.  Project includes “Trainers Training for Africans versus AIDS” tapping their talents and communication skills in combating HIV/AIDS epidemic.
  • NO TOBACCO DAY.  May 31 each year, the UN has designated this date as “No Tobacco Day”. FHEDA had marked this date and encouraged  smokers to observe it.
  • TOBACCO-FREE EDUCATION FOR KINDERGARTEN/KIDS.  This message campaign is to prepare kids to say no to smoking.  “Train up the child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart from  it.”
  • WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION – SOURCE FOR HEALTH INFO.  We learn updated health information from the WHO yearly report considering that FHEDA is committed to deepen public awareness on the hazard of smoking, HIV/AIDS, alcoholism, and drug abuse.
